Interfacing between local sensor networks and a remote cloud system is costly
Existing wireless data loggers and gateways have fixed input functionality so cannot be adapted to the local sensor networks they need to support. This often leads to several gateways being required at a single site to support different sensor networks. Multiple gateways at a single site is not only costly but the additional space and power requirements are undesirable.
Smart Gateway to interface any sensor with the cloud
The Smart Gateway is an industrial data acquisition unit and wireless gateway for capturing sensor data and forwarding this to a remote cloud system or server.
The gateway has been designed in a modular architecture enabling the input cards to be configured to the specific sensor networks it needs to support. This ensures a single gateway can be used to support several condition monitoring applications, reducing the amount the infrastructure required to remotely monitor your assets.
The software is also modular, and SCT can create custom modules to talk to many types of severs or cloud systems, including REST, SOAP and MQTT endpoints.
Configurable Input Ports
The Smart Gateway provides the ability to insert up to three cards to configure the input ports to the specific sensor networks on your site.
Options for the input cards include: LoRa Digital inputs, Analogue inputs (0-10V, 4-20mA), RS-485 and RS-232.
Using our prebuilt design templates, SCT can create custom input cards to support any applications which are not covered by our standard range.
SCT provides a fully managed cloud-based repository and portal to analyse, store and visualise your sensor data.
The Smart Cloud provides a simple to use but feature rich interface. From an overview of all installations, down to graphing of individual datapoints, the Smart Cloud provides visibility into asset health at every level.
Any sensor, Any application, Any Industry
The Smart Gateway can be adapted to meet the requirements of any sensor, for any application, in any industry.
Our rail version has been approved for trial by Network Rail and Transport for London, and is currently undergoing trials to achieve Product Acceptance.
Versions of the Smart Gateway for the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas industries are currently in development.
